Allons à la plage- Let's Go to the Beach

Ah, la plage, what I wouldn't do to be relaxing on the Carribean or Mediterranean shore listening to the low rumble of the waves as they roll and spill onto the sand ...I hope today's lesson will bring out the beauty of the beach-the beauty the beach has provided for centuries-- places of farewells, and for early immigrants arriving to America, safe welcoming harbors to a new world of freedom and opportunities.
Today's Objectives:
Beach vocabulary
French phrases related to the beach and the sea
les coquillages (f)= seashells
le sable = sand
la mer = the sea

l'algue marine (f)= seaweed

l'étoile de mer = starfish
se détendre = to relax

Let's go to the beach!
Cette image est mignonne et drôle, n'est-ce pas? It looks like it was the man's idea:)

Ecoutez à l'océan = Listen to the ocean.

Other vocabulary:
le château de sable= sand castle
le petit clypéastre = sand dollar
Il fait du vent = It (the weather) is windy.
Il fait du soleil. = It is sunny.
Il fait beau. = It is beautiful.
Il fait chaud. = It is HOT.

Bonjour Mandy,
Il fait froid a Melbourne!!
Thank you for todays lesson.
Australia has the most beautiful beaches. We've so lucky.
Have you seen the film "Coco Avant Chanel" yet? I'm going to see it this weekend, followed by champagne with my girlfriends.
Congratulations on your new business. If I ever start a blog, your designs will definately embellish it!!!
Merci Beaucoup
Bon Weekend
Anita

Dear French Teacher,
I love this post. I am not comfortable enough to write in French or speak it. I would feel foolish if I make a mistake. But I must tell you I love trying by myself here in my own home. Thank you for always teaching us about the BEST subjects of interest. I love your blog, your etsy and everything on this page!!
Merci~

Merci beaucoup for such a sweet comment! I love your blog and how feminine, beautiful and french it is! I lived in Aix-en-Provence and that's where I first got connected to my husband, so I will always be in love with France. Thanks for following my blog as I begin this fun and creative journey.

Hello,

a little mistake: one says 'écouter l'océan', not 'écouter à l'océan'.
